Phillips County Court Schedule

Need a Phillips County court date? Start with the papers you already hold: the citation, summons, notice, or signed order that names the case. The Phillips County court schedule mixes one-case hearing settings with the routine sessions its courts run week after week, so a case number and the right court name will carry you further than a general calendar will. Settings are split between Circuit Court and four District Court departments, which makes the location matter as much as the date. A standing session list shows the normal docket rhythm, but it can never replace the specific date, time, and instructions issued for your case. Confirm anything you find in the online docket with the clerk of the court where the case was filed.

How the Phillips County Court Calendar Works

No single live webpage lists every setting for every Phillips County court. Circuit Court settings may sit with a judge or court staff. The courts publish no judge-by-judge web calendar or universal daily docket PDF. Search ARCourts can display future events for covered cases. For recurring sessions, the official 2025 District Court administrative plan is the best source. It covers Helena-West Helena, Lake View, Elaine, and Marvell.

The plan names the judge, department, day or recurrence, time, and case category. It gives no case number, caption, party, lawyer, courtroom number, or reset history. Those details live in the individual notice, docket, or clerk's office. Every district department hears all subject-matter divisions. The published calendar still separates plea, trial, traffic, civil, and small-claims blocks.

Phillips County Court Schedule Grid

Sessions spread across the week and month. Helena-West Helena holds court most often. The smaller departments pack their work into Wednesdays. Each time shown is a recurring block from the administrative plan, never proof of an individual hearing.

Phillips County Court Date Lookups

Begin with the notice issued in the case. A citation, summons, notice of setting, or signed order should name the filing court. It may also state the location, date, time, and purpose. Next, run a Search ARCourts lookup by participant or full case number. Open the matching case docket. Check the newest future event, plus any reset or continuance entries.

  1. Read the latest citation, summons, setting notice, or signed order.
  2. Identify Circuit Court or the correct District Court department.
  3. Search the case in Search ARCourts and inspect the newest future event.
  4. Compare the event with the recurring department schedule without substituting one for the other.
  5. Call the filing clerk with the case or citation number to confirm the live setting.
  6. Visit the correct counter if online information is absent and phone confirmation is not enough.
  7. Recheck close to the date for a reset, closure, or new order.

Call the clerk who holds the record. Circuit Court case questions go to the Phillips County Circuit Clerk at 870-338-5515. Helena-West Helena District Court uses 870-817-7453. Lake View and Elaine share 870-817-7450. Marvell uses 870-829-2573. The courthouse posts no official daily printed calendar, so do not count on one. If a lawyer represents you, also check that lawyer's current case notice.

Phillips County Third-Wednesday Dockets

Lake View and Elaine share the third Wednesday but run on different clocks. Lake View opens with traffic and criminal matters at 9:00 a.m. Civil and small claims follow at 9:30 a.m. Elaine starts traffic and criminal cases at 10:00 a.m. Civil and small claims there start at 10:30 a.m. The half-hour sequence keeps each case group on its own slot within the department.

For schedule contacts, the filtered Phillips County District Court directory lists the local departments and phone numbers.

A Lake View notice does not become an Elaine time just because both departments sit on the same Wednesday. Check the department name, case type, and current notice together.

Note: The third-Wednesday pattern is a recurring plan, while the court's latest case-specific notice controls the required appearance.

Court Settings: What Each Field Means

A court setting is scheduled case activity. Its fields work together. A date and time mean little without the court or department attached. A case category like P/A describes the kind of session, not a final result. Search ARCourts may label the item a future event. A notice may use hearing, trial, arraignment, or another specific term.

DateThe scheduled calendar date shown in the current notice, order, or future event.
TimeThe session or case time; verify whether it is a grouped docket call.
Court or DepartmentCircuit Court or the named Helena-West Helena, Lake View, Elaine, or Marvell department.
JudgeThe judicial officer assigned or presiding, when the source displays one.
Setting TypePlea/arraignment, traffic/criminal, trial, civil/small claims, or Circuit referral.
LocationThe place stated by the court; the administrative plan does not provide courtroom numbers.

Never invent a courtroom number from the court address. The Phillips administrative plan does not supply one. When a notice names the department but leaves the room unclear, call ahead.

Phillips County Schedule Terms

The local plan uses compact labels that can change how a date reads. Plea and arraignment is a response stage, not necessarily the trial. Traffic and criminal is a grouped lower-court block. Circuit referral means a Circuit matter is assigned under the applicable referral plan. A future event is portal language for scheduled activity. It is not proof that no later order changed it.

P/A
Plea and arraignment, the first response and plea stage used in the Phillips district plan.
Civil/SC
Civil and small-claims matters grouped in a lower-court session.
Circuit referral
A Circuit Court matter assigned under Administrative Order 18 conditions.
Continuance
A court-approved move of a hearing or trial to another date.
Reset
A changed setting that may leave the older date visible in the case chronology.

The two Marvell Wednesdays show why terms matter. Second Wednesday holds plea and arraignment; fourth Wednesday holds traffic and criminal trials. Appearing on the recurring plea day does not cover a trial setting.

When a Court Date Moves

Court dates move only when a judge says so. A party cannot shift a setting by assuming the old one is dead. The earlier date may still sit in the docket chronology long after a reset. When two dates show at once, read the newest order and notice together. Then call the clerk or your lawyer before relying on the earlier one. Continuances come from the court, through its own motion and order process, and nowhere else.

Weather and holiday closings may surface through First Judicial Circuit or Arkansas Judiciary channels. Silence online does not mean the courthouse is closed, though. Phillips County posts no permanent remote-hearing schedule. So never assume a hearing can be joined online without instructions from the court itself. The Arkansas Supreme Court page is one official Judiciary channel for statewide court notices and information.

Statewide notices can flag broad developments. For one local case setting, the Phillips filing court still has the final word.

Phillips County Calendar Map Limits

The 2025 administrative plan has real value. It shows the steady rhythm of four departments and what each block hears. What it is not is a live docket. No parties, no case numbers, no courtroom assignments, no filing history, no resets. Search ARCourts carries the case details for covered records. A notice or order carries the direct instructions. The clerk bridges whatever gap remains between the two.

Use the right source: Plan for the court's rhythm with the session grid, but appear only under the current case notice, order, or confirmed future event.

Appellate calendars live apart from Phillips trial-court settings. The Arkansas Court of Appeals page shows that separate court layer.

An appeal setting will not show up just because the trial court docket has an appeal entry. Once a case reaches that level, check the appellate court's own information.

Missed Settings and What Comes Next

Missed a Phillips County setting? Call the filing court immediately. Give the clerk the case or citation number, your name as it appears in the file, the missed date, and the court department. Then ask where the case stands and what the court wants next. If you have a lawyer, call counsel too. Paying an online balance, picking a future session, or showing up on a later docket day does not repair a missed appearance on its own.

Missed a Phillips County setting? A warrant, added assessment, collections action, bond consequence, or other court action may apply depending on the case.

Call the filing clerk immediately and follow the court's instructions for addressing the missed date.

Seek advice from a licensed lawyer when the consequences or required filing are unclear.

Only the court record gives the true status. A generic calendar cannot reveal whether the judge issued a warrant, reset the case, or entered some other order.
